Earthen Floor Workshop

Our fist workshop has finally been given a date and time!
Install an “Earthen” floor
Monday, April 21st
2-6pm (you may come and go as you please)

Earthen floors are becoming a very popular flooring alternative. They have wonderful thermal mass (heat storage), very low embodied energy, and are quite beautiful. Come work with designer/builder/philosopher Mark Morgan(Bear Paw Construction and design) and Ramy Selim (owner/operator of Sunny Day). We are asking for a $5 donation for this workshop to cover costs.

Gearing up for spring

Nature's biggest tease is on its way, so while spring approaches with cold feet let me warm you all with news of what's going on at Sunny Day.

First off, we have a bunch of new products:
The NatureMill indoor composter, which speeds up the decomposition of food waste without stink, and also cures the new dirt so it's ready to go in as little as two weeks. We actually have one running in the store if anyone wants to stop by and check it out.

A line of animal supplies made from recycled plastic bottles. There is a selection of pet beds, as well as dog and cat toys. They are all curiously soft and the beds show how many bottles it took to make them, pretty sweet.

Finally, we're starting to get a bunch of new LED's in for all the lighting fans out there.

Moving on, although we don't have actual dates set up yet, here is the list of new workshops for the next couple months:
Reducing Your Carbon Footprint: As always this one is FREE
Make Your Own Paints!: Great for all ages
Installing an Earthen Floor: Taught by Mark Morgan of Bear Claw Design and Construction

Let me know if you have any questions about, well anything.
